# Instagram Professional Account

Meta has decided to depreciate the **Instagram Basic Display API** and replace it with the new **Instagram API**. You can read the [full blog post](https://developers.facebook.com/blog/post/2024/09/04/update-on-instagram-basic-display-api/) by them that was created on September 4, 2024.

Meta will stop allowing connections to the Basic API as of **December 4th, 2024**. To continue displaying your Instagram Feed using Feed Them Social you will need to migrate to the new method, which is rather simple to setup and had many benefits. We'll show you how below.

Unfortunately you will no longer be able to use a **Personal account** to display your Instagram Media on your website.

This new method requires your **Instagram account** to be converted to a **Professional** account, then you can choose the option for **Creator** or **Business**. If you are a content creator, musician or artists you might want to choose the Creator option. If you are selling items or trying to promote your business then you will want to choose the Business option.

Please follow the steps below to convert your Instagram to a Professional account. Once complete you will be able to display your Instagram Feed.

### Convert your Instagram to a Professional account.

1. Login to your Instagram Account.
2. 3. 5. After choosing that option you will be prompted with an option for **Creator** and **Business**. 6. In this case I am choosing Creator. 7. 8. That's it, now your account is set to Professional and the account type is a Creator. Now you can create an Instagram feed by clicking on the **Login and Get my Access Token** button from our plugin.
