    Hi there,

I have the Facebook and Twitter feed on the http://www.batterseabarge.com home page. Until the latest update, they have been working brilliantly. The Facebook one is still working as before, but the Twitter feed is no longer displaying images.

This is the shortcode I am using – [fts_twitter twitter_name=batterseabarge]

For ‘Hide Images in Posts’ ‘No’ is selected.

This image shows that images are not being displayed in the feed is at http://www.batterseabarge.com/bbevents/Feed_Me.JPG

Many thanks for any thoughts you might have on what is no longer working.

    Best wishes, Mark

    Mark,

Actually in this case we may not need it, I took a look at your shortcode and it’s not showing images for me either. So the question here is, what if anything did you start doing different when posting to Twitter? Some items like the retweets may not show images but some of them for sure should. Any details you can give would be helpful so we can debug this issue.

Hi Spencer, I installed the plugin several months ago and until the update to the plugin 3 days ago, images were displaying in both the Facebook and Twitter feeds. After I had updated the plugin the images continued to display in the Facebook feed, but not in the Twitter one. I have not changed the way I post to Twitter in any way, that has remained the same, so I can’t help but feel that it is related to the plugin update in some way. Is that possible? Many thanks, Mark

    Mark,

If had the premium version and you increase the number of posts to say 25 I can see some posts from 6 days ago that do have photos. I see what is going on here, it appears twitter has a newer feature they have added where they are appending the word :large at the end of the url, so for some reason that is why the images are not showing for posts that are like that, and now it appears most of your latest images are like that. Doing a comparison with the photos below you can see the difference. All that being said I’m going to take some time to see if that is something we can get around in our feed. Keep you posted 🙂

Do you post directly on twitter when making tweets, and do you do it on desktop or mobile and what device?

So far from my research it appears to be a glitch in the Twitter API because when I do a test using the API console no media urls are coming up. So now it’s about getting as much detail as we can and requesting support from Twitter.

Hi Spencer, thank you so much for looking into this and making progress with your investigations. I generally post directly to Twitter using either my HP Pavilion laptop in Google Chrome, or on my Samsung Galaxy Note mobile. I occasionally use Hootsuite, but have not done this of late. Do you need any more detail than this at this stage? By the way, have other users of your plugin been reporting the same thing? I guess if the issue is with the way Twitter had made changes, then presumably I’m not the only user experiencing it? Many thanks once again, Mark

Oddly I’ve not had anyone else request support for this issue. I even did some tests on our twitter feed with posting an image and everything worked ok. How about we try something. Post a photo to twitter and lets see if it comes up. Do this from your computer, desktop. If the photo does not show up give the same photo to me and I will try and post it and see if it shows. Like I mentioned if I go back like 20 posts or so I can see an image posted to your timeline through our feed, but for some reason the images as of late are getting treated differently for some unknown reason through the API.

Hi Spencer, I have just posted the following to Twitter, but the image did not display:

    Sparkling harmonies & swinging rhythms from @BaileyDollsUK @BatterseaBarge Tues Oct 4. Tkts https://goo.gl/a7Ye8S #vintage #cabaret

It is displaying in Twitter, but not in the Social Feed.

Oddly, I had retweeted something earlier re Residence NonAme and the image for that is displaying in the Social Feed.

How do I give you an image?

    Cheers, Mark

I should probably add that if I click on the first link that appears in Social Feed on http://www.batterseabarge.com, it goes to a ‘Sorry, that page doesn’t exist!’ page 🙁

Ooook so after many tests, I’m sure you got tagged on lol, I thought I saw the problem and was about to post to the devs on twitter, however someone got back to me with an answer on stackoverflow. So I’m going to try this out and see how it goes. Keep you posted. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/39688477/twitter-images-with-large-not-showing-up-in-api-console/39746658#39746658
